Maker Monday: Pencil Topper Creatures
Have fun jazzing up ordinary school supplies with this Maker Monday craft: Pencil Topper Creatures. It’s an easy project for little fingers. Each creature can be personalized by kids with creative minds. Imagination and bright colors combine for endless possibilities.
Supplies:
Pencils
Pipe cleaners
Glue
Google eyes
Holding one end of a pipe cleaner flat against the tabletop, twist the pipe cleaner into a flat, tight spiral to form the head of your creature.
Glue an eye to each side of the head. Allow a few minutes to dry before moving on to the next step.
Hold the pipe cleaner against the pencil, allowing the head to be an inch or two above the top of the eraser. Wind the pipe cleaner around the pencil in a tight downward spiral.
Add twists of additional pipe cleaner pieces to create wings, arms, or other features to add to your fantastic beast.
