21 family-friendly Pride Month events happening around Pittsburgh

Looking for Pride events in Pittsburgh that are great for families? Although Pittsburgh Pride weekend has ended, there are tons of family-friendly events happening throughout June to celebrate Pride Month in our region.
From outdoor community parties to baseball games, there’s so much happening:
June 5 through 27: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Kids Club
Some of CLP’s afternoon Kids’ Club gatherings have a special focus during Pride Month. Kids in grades K-5 can check out “Kids’ Club: Keith Haring” to learn all about artist and LGBTQIA+ activist Keith Haring, while making a mural inspired by his work. Or for visit for “Kids’ Club: Pride History – Flowers” to learn about the history of flower symbolism in the LGBT community and make paper versions of flowers or a bookmark using flower stickers. June 6, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.: FC Pride in the Park at Allegheny RiverTrail Park
This family-focused, youth-centered annual celebration offers a ton of family activities, including games, jewelry making and crafts, STEAM activities courtesy of Assemble, a slew of theater, music and dance performances, kayaking demos with 3 Rivers Outdoor Co., a clothing swap, plus food and drink and much more. June 7, 6:40 p.m.: Pride Night at PNC Park
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ annual Pride Night event happens June 7, when the Bucs face the Minnesota Twins. Fans who buy a special game ticket to the Pride Night game will get a Pirates Pride “P” Bucket Hat and have the opportunity to make a donation to support local LGBTQIA+ nonprofits in our community. June 8, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Connellsville Pride in the Park
This annual celebration at Yough River Park in Connellsville includes entertainment, food vendors, raffles and more.
June 9, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Venture Outdoors Pride Outside Hike, Murrysville
Volunteer Trip Leader Bili O’Hara (they/them) leads monthly hikes from Duff Park’s eastern parking area where participants receive laminated maps and collectively choose their preferred trail loop. Hikers will learn navigation and map reading during a hike of no longer than 3 miles. You’ll find a porta-potty at the starting point and a pavilion with picnic tables. You’re welcome to bring snacks or lunch to enjoy post-hike. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, which can be $0. (Also happening June 23.)
June 9, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Ross Township Pride
All ages are invited to Ross Township’s Pride event. Families will find local resources, craft projects and can help create a community pride banner. You can also vote in the Pet Pride Pageant and enjoy a visit from Animal Friends’ therapy dogs (1 p.m.), and story times with folks from Northland Public Library (2 p.m.) and Shaler Library (3 p.m.). June 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Mt. Lebanon Pride
The third-annual Lebo Pride happens at Mt. Lebanon Main Park. Arrive early for morning yoga (8 a.m.), then stay for arts and crafts, lawn games, a bounce house, food and drinks, a visit from a fire truck and much more. Families can also find a sensory-friendly tent and free water at Pavilion #2. Details here.
June 15, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Vandergrift Pride in the Park
Vandergrift’s second annual Pride celebration at Kennedy Park, organized by volunteers, is a free family event (it’s pet-friendly event, too) offering kids’ activities, live bands, food, vendors, drag performances and drag bingo, and more, all designed to celebrate LGBTQ+ neighbors, friends and family. June 15, 12 p.m.: Washington, PA Pride Festival

June 15, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Lawrenceville Pride
Come to Lawrenceville for a joyful block party, maker market, picnic and activity area, movement fun with Attack Theater and much more. Click here and scroll down for all the details.
June 15, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Color Fun & Run at Riverwalk Memorial Park, New Castle
Hoyt Arts + Education Center hosts this free, family-friendly celebration of inclusivity in downtown New Castle, with music, games, art vendors & activities, food trucks and more. Learn a bit of LGBTQ+ history and explore community resources for support and advocacy. No need to run unless you wish to, but if you do: The one-block “young run” begins at 5:30 p.m. and the all-ages fun run begins at 6 p.m (registration required). Bring a t-shirt for tie dying and wear your most colorful outfit. Prizes will be announced every half hour. Open to all. Details here.
June 15, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Andy Warhol Museum LGBTQ+ Youth Prom
All teens (ages 13-18) are invited to this free, circus-themed party celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Warhol’s LGBTQ+ Youth Prom, the largest affirming prom in Southwestern Pennsylvania. You can dress as a circus clown or a tattooed lady, wear traditional prom attire or something different. Entry to prom includes dinner, dancing, art activities and more. Reserve free tickets here.
June 22, Pride Millvale

June 22, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Greensburg Pride Prom at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art
The annual Greensburg Pride Prom is free and open to all ages. Visitors can dance to music from drag queen MCs, walk the Promenade and enjoy a special performance by pop star and Westmoreland County native Bryce Bowyn. Prom attire encouraged but not required. Details here.

June 25, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Greenfield Family Pride Night at Magee Rec Center
Celebrate and support the diverse LGBTQ+ folks of Greenfield and Pittsburgh, along with their allies, at this event hosted by The Greenfield Community Association, Pittsburgh City Council District 5, Stories Like Me and Hugh Lane Wellness. Families will find tabletop games and bingo, music and entertainment, food and drinks, education materials and resources, LGBTQ+ crafts and activities, and vendors selling items including an inclusive array of books. June 28: Family Pride Night at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium
Visit the zoo for this special inclusive and welcoming event for the LGBTQIA+ community, happening after normal zoo hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This special summer night promises family fun, including crafts, music, and vendors. Get tickets ($25 for kids and adults) here.
June 29: Chosen Family Pride Picnic on the North Side
Join the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation for a Pride event that centers youth and families of all stripes. Enjoy a picnic meal (vegetarian options will be available), along with live entertainment, music, dancing activities and outdoor games, from noon to 3 p.m. Details here.
June 30, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Dormont Pride in the Park
“Pride in the Park” is a new take on Dormont’s previous Pride events. You’ll find an afternoon of visual arts, LGBT-friendly entertainment, music, vendors, food and more. Organizers say that last year’s event, “Spark/Pride,” welcomed more than 2,000 community members from around the Pittsburgh region, including elected officials, families, and LGBTQ community members. Don’t miss this year’s event.
June 30: People’s Pride at Wilkinsburg’s Turner Elementary School
People’s Pride 2024 will take place at Turner Elementary School in Wilkinsburg this year with a celebration centered around the BIPOC community. You’ll find live music, vendors and more. Details here.
