This event will highlight the completed works of participants of our teen fashion workshops as well as innovative looks by teens in the greater Pittsburgh area. Register here for free tickets.
Saturday, March 26: Nighttime Owl Prowl, 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
Whoooo’s invited? Pittsburgh Botanic Garden hosts the Nighttime Owl Prowl for kids ages 8-17 and their grownups. Naturalist educators will lead the group through the garden’s woodlands to learn about the type of owls that inhabit our region. Registration is $25, which includes a child and adult, $15 for each additional child.
Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27: Bring Spring!, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Join creative kids in the Art Studio at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh for Bring Spring!, an evolving project that welcomes the season of warmth and sunshine. Kids will build and paint a springtime scene using cardboard tubes, cardboard boxes and other found items. The activity is ongoing throughout the day and is included in museum admission.
Sunday, March 27: Fantastic Creature Egg Prop Making and Storyboarding at MuseumLab, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
The creative crew at MuseumLab hatched a cool workshop for ages 10-15. In Fantastic Creature Egg Prop Making and Storyboarding, they’ll create an egg that they’ll design a storyboard around. Workshop registration is $20.
Sunday March 27: Cookies with Cottontail, Rose Barn in North Park, 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
If you’re looking for fun spring activities for kids in Pittsburgh, check out these free afternoons of entertainment that includes a visit with Peter Cottontail organized by Allegheny County Parks. You’ll find cookies and refreshments, face painting, a balloon artist and spring crafts. Free, but registration is required.
Sunday, March 27: Empty Bowls at Rodef Shalom Congregation, 1-7:30 p.m.
Think globally, eat locally. One of the city’s signature charitable events returns to fight hunger — which has increased significantly during the pandemic. Be nourished by a meal of soup and bread while supporting the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Just Harvest. Then select a ceramic bowl made by a local artisan to take home as a reminder of our neighbors facing hunger. Soup-to-Go tickets are also available. Buy tickets.
Empower Her is also happening this weekend. And if you’re looking for more kid-friendly events in the Pittsburgh region, visit our big guide to spring events and check out our lineup of cool events happening in March!
