PPS wants to hear from parents: How did the last school year impact your kids?

Families are invited to respond to a new survey from Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS). This PPS survey about students’ experiences during the previous school year is meant to help the district “better understand, assess and meet the needs of our students and families.” 

The PPS survey, which you can find here, is open until July 31. Parents/guardians are asked to take the survey once for each child they are raising. 

PPS survey questions cover a wide range of topics, including academic support, resources, communication and engagement with teachers and staff, school safety and security measures, technology access, special education services and support, and also health and wellness initiatives.

 “We value the input of parents and guardians, as they play a crucial role in the achievement of our students.” Superintendent Wayne Walters said in an announcement about the survey. “The information gathered from the survey will inform the District’s work to improve student outcomes and experiences.”

PPS says survey responses will “remain confidential, ensuring the privacy of all participants.”

In May, Kidsburgh reported that PPS was seeking public input on the value statements they would use to make spending decisions in an effort to “ensure equity, excellence, and efficiency.”
