There’s no shortage of egg hunts this Easter weekend, plus other great family events: Check out our guide.

This Easter weekend will be (mostly) dry with spring temperatures — which is good news, because there are plenty of egg hunts across the region to enjoy (and don’t miss the final Friday Fish Fry). If you’re not into Easter events, we’ve also got some live theater and nature-themed family activities happening around the Pittsburgh region.

Friday, March 29 – Sunday, March 31: “Mamma Mia!” at the Benedum Center, various times

Catch the end of this show’s run this weekend. Full of all your favorite bouncy ABBA songs, this charming musical has been celebrated by fans for 25 years. Check for tickets right here.

Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30: Fun Slides presents Slippy’s Easter Egg Hunt, 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Come on out to the world’s only carpet skate park for two fun-filled events with the Fun Slides mascot, Slippy. Kids can slide, skate and bounce their way through this egg hunt. The cost is $25 and tickets are available through Eventbrite.

Friday, March 29: Easter Egg Hunt at the Block at Northway, 10:30 a.m.

This event, hosted by Fit4Moms North Hills, includes a quick mommy-and-me workout class and then a stroller-friendly egg hunt through the mall. No registration is required. Just show up! Details can be found here.

Friday, March 29: Nature Night Out at Fern Hollow Nature Center, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Drop your kids off (yes, you heard that right) at Fern Hollow Nature Center for a crafty, fun-filled evening with other kids ages 5 through 10 years old. Grownups can go enjoy a few child-free hours while their kids do some crafting and learn about nature. Cost is $26 per child for three hours. Find details here.

Saturday, March 30: Baby and Me dance class at Los Sabrosos, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

This fun and relaxed dance and musicality class is made to promote bonding between babies and their cherished grown-ups. Grownups are invited to hold your babies, wear them in a carrier, or just have them next to you and get ready to jam to music both you and baby can enjoy! The cost is $20. Saturday, March 30: The Cone Zone at Raccoon State Park, 12 p.m.

Learn how to identify the different conifers at an indoor presentation, followed by an outdoor walk to practice your new tree-identifying skills. This is one of the many free events put on by our state parks. Register here.

Saturday, March 30: Eggstravaganza at Carnegie Museum of Natural History, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Compete in an egg-themed scavenger hunt, discover eggs and nests in a variety of sizes, and collect a springtime treat. Activities are included in general admission. A sensory-friendly session is planned for earlier in the day. Registration is $12 for kids, $16 for grownups.

Saturday, March 30: Brunch with the Bunny at Soergel Orchards, 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.

This popular event is an annual favorite with a delicious brunch and a visit with the Easter Bunny. There are two seating times to work around various nap schedules and weekend plans. Tickets are $15.99 for ages 10 and younger, $25.99 for grownups, and free for those younger than 2.

Saturday, March 30: Bunny Fun Cruise on The Gateway Clipper, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Take a ride along the three rivers to celebrate spring! As guest of honor, the Easter Bunny will lead a DJ dance party that includes the “Bunny Hop.” Tickets are $20 for ages 1 and older, $5 for infants, $35 for grownups.

Saturday, March 30: Threadbare Cider and Mead Egg Hunt, 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. 

This family-friendly event will take place on the patio at Threadbare Cider and Mead. Tickets for kids are $8 and include a basket. Tickets for adults are $10 and include a glass of cider or mead. Head upstairs afterwards for pizza! Find all the details here.
