Kidsburgh Podcast ep. 8 is here: Tour Boyce Park, get inspired by an Olympian and more

We dropped the first six episodes of the Kidsburgh Podcast last spring, sharing inspiring conversations with Pittsburgh Steeler Cam Heyward, rocket scientist and Girls Scouts CEO Sylvia Acevedo, Beverly’s founder Megs Yunn, former Pittsburgh Pirate Travis Snider, magician Mr. Messado and astronaut Mike Fincke, who each told us about their paths to success and adventure (and the hard work they did along the way).
This fall, we’re back with six all-new episodes to bring you even more inspiring interviews, details on great places to visit and insight from local teens who answer the questions that grownups are most curious about.
Last week, we dropped Episode 7, which included a behind-the-scenes visit with “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” producer Chris Loggins, plus details on Ohiopyle Park and an enlightening Tea With Teens segment.
Here are details and links to Episode 8, where we take listeners to Boyce Park, a Pittsburgh gem where you can ski in the winter and play in a wave pool during summer. Then, our main interview is with multiple medal-winning Olympian Lauryn Williams, who has rocked the track-and-field competition at the Athens, Beijing and London Summer Games and the bobsledding competition at the Sochi Winter Games. She now uses her competitive knowledge and her MBA to run a financial planning business called Worth Winning.
Lauryn shares great advice for kids and parents about sticking to a goal, handling challenges and much more.
This episode wraps up with a quick chat among our Tea With Teens team. These local students have an honest discussion about what parents can really do to help them juggle afterschool activities and sports with their academic and personal lives.
