Free Kids Valentines DIY Bouquet Kits

South Side Kids has once again teamed up with Red Roses Floral on 12th & E Carson Streets in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood to spread love this Valentine’s Day to local children and families.
Beginning Monday, February 10, local children and their parents or caregivers can swing by Red Roses Floral at 1122 E. Carson St., to pick up their free DIY Valentine Flower Kit. Each kit comes with one red rose, stickers, glitter and more to make a beautiful rose bouquet. The free kits can be picked up beginning Monday, February 10 through Friday, February 14, from 10am to 5pm. The Red Roses Floral Team will also be working long hours ahead of the Valentine’s holiday, if you can’t make it during the open hours, feel free to call the shop for after hours drop-in!
Children participating in Citiparks afterschool program at Ormsby Recreation Center will enjoy a special Valentine’s bouquet making party on Wednesday, February 12, courtesy of Councilperson Bob Charland, with yummy eats and treats provided by Cup Ka Joe’s coffee shop on 27th & Sarah Streets.
Red Roses Floral opened in Fall 2022 and is one of the first black-owned flower shops in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Operated by Heather and her family in the former Cindy Esser’s Flower Shop, they are continuing the long legacy of community advocacy, through partnering with organizations like South Side Kids to bring free and positive opportunities to South Pittsburgh families.
