The Ellis School’s guide to an enriching and stress-free Summer Camp
Ah, summer camp — a place where kids can form new friendships, make priceless memories, and enjoy sunny days jam-packed with fun games and activities. It’s simple enough to envision, but the task of actually finding a summer camp that checks all the boxes for your family (educational and fun, conveniently located and has great facilities, fits in your family’s daily schedule and allows time for that mid-summer vacation, etc.) can be daunting.
With this in mind, The Ellis School has announced a lineup of summer programs for 2025 that are designed to meet the needs of both campers and their busy families, providing a summer of learning, fun, and relaxation for all.
Engaging Programs for a Range of Ages and Interests
Open to girls and boys ages 3 to 9, Ellis’ Coed Kid Camps offer eight weeks of programming from June 9 – Aug. 1. Each week revolves around a unique theme and features a blend of engaging activities, interactive projects and classic camp fun. Whether your camper is a treasure seeker, storm chaser, budding builder or a story teller, there is something to fit everyone’s interests this summer.
For older campers, The Ellis School offers Changemakers Camps, a summer institute that brings together girls entering grades 5–9 to collaborate on interdisciplinary real-world projects. With four areas of focus from visual arts, and dance, to robotics and game design, campers are challenged to think creatively and get the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and explore their passions.
The Ellis School campus enhances the experience with a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities, including vibrant green spaces, a state-of-the-art athletic field, science labs, art studios, gymnasiums, a butterfly garden, and more.
Flexibility for Every Schedule
Wish you could build a personalized summer camp schedule that flexes around your family vacations, early meetings, and afternoon errands? Look no further! At Ellis, we offer both half-day and full-day options for all Coed Kid Camps sessions, with early drop-off available for all campers and after-care provided for all full-day participants. All of this is conveniently located on the Ellis campus in the heart of Pittsburgh’s East End next to Mellon Park.
Plus, each camp session is only one to two weeks in length, so it’s easy to work camp into your summer calendar and register for the weeks your child is available!
Expert Instructors Who Double as Role Models
We know how important it is to feel confident that your kids are in good hands. That’s why we staff our camp sessions with expert instructors and friendly counselors who serve as positive role models and educators for your child. Our caring professionals ensure that each week strikes the right balance of summer fun and education with collaborative games, hands-on projects, and experiential learning.
