My Favorite Pittsburgh Thing To Do With Kids: Sweet Boutique sister act
Sisters Kadee and Kristin Lewis live a sweet, sweet life.
They are the owners of Bella Christie & Lil’ Z’s Sweet Boutique, with shops in Lawrenceville and Aspinwall, named after their three kids.
Daughters Bella, 17, and Christie, 20, belong to Kristin. They live in Mt. Lebanon. Zoe, 14, aka “Lil’ Z,” lives with her mom, Kadee, just two blocks from their Aspinwall location, and two blocks from Kadee’s fitness business, Studio – Bodytech.
“Pittsburgh offers so many choices for families to get out and enjoy some time together,” says Kadee, “from museums to local farms with fun, interactive activities for the children to experience.”
But when looking for a favorite thing to do, festivals rise to the top.
“We love going with our children to many of the events that Pittsburgh has to offer,” she says, pointing to Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta, Three Rivers Arts Festival and having a blast at the first Monster Pumpkin Festival on the North Shore.
“Your children will grow up so fast, so it is important to have that bond,” Kadee says.
The single moms are devoted to their daughters: “We even put a character version of them with chefs hats on our Sweet Truck & Delivery Van.”
Their Aspinwall boutique bakery caters parties locally and for celebrity clients across the country, while the Lawrenceville shop delights customers with extreme Manic Milkshakes, specialty cookies and crazy cool stuff like Dragon’s Breath.
“Kristin is the head ‘Sugar Fairy’ and can whip up just about anything you can think of,” Kadee says. “Me — they keep me out of the kitchen. I just don’t have that baking talent!”
