Catch Pittsburgh’s Top 10 kid-friendly events in July
Summer hits its peak with all the stuff – really big stuff – to do with kids in July.
An epic battle is planned with the Giant Pillow Fight presented by the Pittsburgh Cacophony Society in Schenley Park. Expect a flurry of feathers and fuzz at the BYOP (Bring Your Own Pillow) event.
One of the largest collections of pinball, arcade and console games will be on display during the ReplayFX Arcade & Gaming Festival at the David Lawrence Convention Center. Kids can play as much as they want on the 2,000 games with just the cost of admission.
A whopping dose of culture with a childish twist can be found in the Pittsburgh Festival Opera production of “Hansel and Gretel” at Winchester Thurston School. The 19th-century opera, based on the classic fairy tale, is sung in English and includes silly costumes and colorful sets.
The Tropical Forest Congo Festival at Phipps Conservatory explores a vast African territory. Kids can learn about rainforest life in this diverse area through crafts, food, drumming, and dance.
But there’s lots more big stuff on the calendar. Find details on these and other events at NEXTPittsburgh.
