The team at Connected Nest helps people find support and community on all stages of the journey to and through parenthood. And they know firsthand how it feels to go through the experience of infertility.
“My personal journey of infertility left me feeling isolated, confused, overwhelmed, financially strapped and relationally strained. I so badly wanted someone to just hold my hand and help me walk through it,” says Alicia Leggett, who serves as infertility support program manager and also expecting moms facilitator at Connected Nest. “Now that I am on the other side, I’ve made a commitment to doing whatever I can do to help those still going through it!”
As part of that mission, the nonprofit Connected Nest will be hosting “Nurturing Community in Fertility Journeys: Ask the Experts,” a series of free events open to the public beginning on Jan. 29. These gatherings will offer resources and information to help individuals and couples facing infertility build connections and feel encouraged.
Those who attend can feel free to ask the questions that will help them feel less overwhelmed and more prepared. Tickets for attendees are by donation to make this accessible for everyone.
“Infertility makes you have to think logically enough to process clinical information, while at the same time maintain enough strength to advocate for yourself and maintain your relationships,” Leggett says.
“Sometimes the amount of overwhelm can leave you questioning: How can I possibly fight all of these battles when I feel like I’m about to emotionally sink? After hearing that people going through infertility had deeper questions and wanted more support, Connected Nest decided to help bridge the gap and connect community and experts with this mini-series that will be an open forum of questions to a panel of experts on the most common subject areas of stress that we discuss in our groups.”
The Ask the Experts events will include:
Jan. 29, Clinical Experts: Dr. Joseph Sanfillipo, Reproductive Endocrinologist; Jessica Manns, Embryologist; Megan Kucic, Fertility Nurse; Dr. Blaise, Napro Technology
Feb. 26, Holistic Experts: Dr. Brie Kemp, Chiropractor; Emily Kilar, Nutritionist; Kayla Simmons, Acupuncturist; Meagan Roppo, Yoga/Therapist

“We hope that people find empowerment, education and encouragement to be able to feel informed and confident during each step of this family building journey!”
