11 kid-friendly Pittsburgh events in June
From crazy aliens wrestling to beautiful Disney princesses, June promises an extreme lineup on fun stuff for kids.
On June 24, Kaiju Big Battel brings larger-than-life characters in a roster of villains, beasts, and monsters who will enter the arena for a knockdown, drag-out fight. Kids and grownups can jump on one of a fleet of Big Wheels during Monster Trike Night in a three-wheeled race. It all happens at the August Wilson Center.
Pittsburgh CLO presents “The Little Mermaid” at the Benedum Center from June 14-25. The stage adaptation of the Disney animated film enthralls with lively songs, funny characters, and the most colorful costumes and set you can imagine. More princesses will be part of the lineup of costumed characters and mascots at Kennywood Kidsfest on June 27 and 28.
Pet proud kids will not need to choose between cats and dogs. Both have featured events.
More than 300 dogs are expected at the 8th annual Panera Pup Walk on June 4 on The Waterfront’s scenic trail. Then comes a festival featuring puppy pools, games, and other activities. Kitties get their day, too. CATurday, actually. The CATurday: “Art Cat’s Sketchbook” Launch Party at Carnegie Museum of Art is set for June 10. Kids can get a “Cattoo,” design their own cat ears or take part in drawing activities.
But that’s just a tiny bit of what’s on the June calendar. Check out these events and more at NEXTPittsburgh.
