2024 Battlefield Diorama Contest – Registration

We are happy to announce our second annual Battlefield Diorama Contest. Registration will open August 15th, 2024 and end October 15th, 2024.
Working independently or in groups of up to four, students from ages 7 -17 are encouraged to put their knowledge of French and Indian War Battles to the test by creating a battle diorama of a battle that took place during the French and Indian war. A small amount of plastic French and Indian War soldiers will be provided for free to each entrant thanks to the support of a grant from United States Steel.
Entry to compete is free for all participants!
Competition will conclude at an event hosted at Fort Ligonier on March 11 from 1-4 PM where winners will be selected. Participants in the competition will be granted free admission to this event.
12 Soldiers from Armies in Plastic will be available for each child/ team that enters.
Judging will be divided between three age groups: ages 7-10, ages 11-14, and ages 15-17. One winner from each category will be chosen and their dioramas will be displayed at Braddock’s Battlefield History Center until May 1, 2025.
Students can work as individuals or as teams, team categories will be judged by the highest age of the team member.
Individuals and teams should register by October 15, 2024, soldier packets can be picked up beginning that day at the BBHC. Judging will take place on Saturday December 7, 2024, at the Braddock’s Battlefield History Center, 609 Sixth Street, North Braddock PA 15104.
