Got a teen who’s curious about writing and journalism? SLB Radio wants to meet them.

Interested in becoming a youth reporter? SLB Radio and Kidsburgh are partnering once again to bring youth voices from across the region to readers and listeners.

Teens and young adults who are interested in writing and journalism are invited to get involved as a youth reporter with SLB Radio. Youth reporters cover local events, conduct interviews, share their perspectives on current issues, contribute to podcasts, and are sometimes invited to cover special events.

Here are some recent articles by SLB youth reporters:

In addition to getting published here on Kidsburgh, SLB’s youth reporters earn stipends for their work, gain experience and clips to add to their resumes, build their professional network, and receive mentorship from media professionals.

No previous experience is necessary. But an interest in journalism, writing, and community engagement is key!

Teens currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 can get involved by registering with SLB Radio right here. SLB also offers a free afterschool program that includes regular meet-ups where youth reporters, writers and creatives get connected with opportunities, including writing for Kidsburgh.
