My Favorite Pittsburgh Thing To Do With Kids: Gisele Fetterman
Gisele Fetterman is known for inciting good deeds throughout her adopted hometown of Braddock – where hubby John Fetterman is mayor – and beyond.
She founded Braddock’s Free Store 15104, where surplus goods are distributed to neighbors in need. She co-founded 412 Food Rescue and was inspired to promote inclusiveness with Hello Hijab, a Muslim headpiece for Barbie dolls.
When it comes to family entertainment, Gisele looks close to home, too. The Fettermans and their three kids — Karl, 8; Grace, 5; and August, 3 – find fun in the beauty and grandeur around them.
“One of our favorite places and experiences are our family walks and picnics along the Greater Allegheny Passage,” says Gisele of the rail-trail that runs from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC. “The gorgeous urban meadows and butterflies with a mill backdrop are breathtaking.
“Exploring the Carrie Furnace with the kids is another magical go-to. Their imaginations run wild, and there is so much to see and take in.”
