If you’re aiming to raise little theater nerds (or hope to inspire a young patron of the arts), Pittsburgh is a great city to be in. With theaters big and small across the city, there are so many chances to expose kids to theatrical productions. But nothing beats taking in a show Downtown in the glittering Cultural District.
This week, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced the touring shows that will be coming to Pittsburgh over the next year. From Broadway favorites to the Trust’s long-running magic show series, there will be no shortage of events to choose from.
“We’re thrilled to highlight dozens of sensational dance, cabaret, magic, live music, and family-friendly events so audiences can mark their calendars now for can’t-miss attractions this fall and spring,” said Brooke Horejsi, Chief Programming and Engagement Officer at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “These cherished series will bring back returning audiences and hopefully welcome first-time visitors to our iconic theaters in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District.”
For our Kidsburgh readers, the Trust Family series is designed just for you. These family-friendly performances are designed to pique kids’ interest — while still being engaging for adults.

From the zany adventures of “Dog Man: The Musical” to the impressive puppetry of “Dinosaur World Live,” the variety of shows offered this season run the gamut of interests. Tickets for these shows will go on sale May 14.

In addition to these specific family-centric performances, the Broadway shows coming to town include several productions that will interest kids and teens. “The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is proud to present another remarkable lineup of touring Broadway productions at the Benedum Center for the 2025-2026 PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh season,” said Kendra Whitlock Ingram, President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “We extend our sincerest thanks to PNC Foundation for their support and look forward to a fantastic season in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District.”
From “Beauty and the Beast” and “Wicked” to “Hell’s Kitchen,” which tells the story of a young Alicia Keys, there are selections to meet every interest in this year’s diverse lineup.

Local favorite Liberty Magic will continue through this season as well, with exciting (and often funny) performances by top magicians for kids of all ages. Find more details about those shows here. The upcoming lineup includes:
