Public Source: Asst. Superintendent Wayne Walters tapped to lead Pittsburgh Public Schools as interim superintendent

Assistant Superintendent Wayne Walters will replace Superintendent Anthony Hamlet as the leader of Pittsburgh Public Schools.

The appointment of Walters to serve as interim superintendent was approved unanimously Wednesday evening and comes in the wake of Hamlet’s resignation.

Walters, 51, assumes his duties as interim superintendent on Oct. 1. His salary is $210,000.
