S1 Ep12: Listen to our kindness episode with your kids!
Ever wonder how the globally loved, Pittsburgh-born #bethekindkid movement got started? We’ve got the origin story on the latest episode of the Kidsburgh Podcast, along with a whole lot of inspiration to do simple acts of kindness this holiday season.
“I think oftentimes people don’t put themselves out there to do something because they feel it won’t have a big enough impact. … But what I found through the years of doing this is we maybe help 20 people in the beginning, then the 20 led to 30. And the 30 led to 40,” #bethekindkid co-founder and retired teacher Maureen Frew told us. “We feel better when we help other people. And unless you get the feeling of helping other people, you don’t understand it until you do it.”
Hear more of this interview and learn about the local nonprofit Voluntots (along with honest talk from local teens about what they’re grateful for) in this new episode.
Our podcast is hosted by the Kidsburgh team — Melissa Rayworth, Kristine Sorensen and Yu-Ling Cheng — and recorded by SLB Radio Productions. Get all the details here.
