Your outdoor adventure guide: How to get kids out in the fresh air this summer
Kidsburgh’s events editor Meg St-Esprit paid a visit this week to KDKA’s Talk Pittsburgh, where she discussed the fun (and challenge) of getting kids to embrace outdoor fun this summer.
“I remember, growing up: The end of school meant I could be outside all day and into the night. I feel as though kids don’t think that way anymore these days,” co-host Mikey Hood told St-Esprit. “They’re looking forward to playing with their devices. How do we get them outside?”
It’s tough, St-Esprit said. But there is good news: we live in the perfect area for outdoor fun. There are a lot of high-interest activities, including everything from local skate parks to the scenic Laurel Highlands.
