You’re invited: Suggest a story at Kidsburgh’s Pitch Meeting

Kidsburgh is always looking for great stories that will help parents and kids in the Pittsburgh region. To help find them, for many years we’ve hosted our “Kidsburgh pitch meetings” where we invite local organizations to tell us what they’re working on and how they’re helping families in southwestern Pennsylvania.
They come with great information about parenting resources, programs for kids and much more, and we often pursue stories about their work. Or we end up using their experts or the families they serve as sources for future stories. We also get e-mails from readers suggesting topics for stories and telling us about remarkable kids and grownups making life better for others. We often pursue those ideas, as well.
For the month of May, we’ve decided to bring these efforts together by welcoming our readers to attend the Kidsburgh pitch meeting. You’re invited to drop into our Zoom room on Tuesday, May 3. from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and tell us about a person you’d love to see Kidsburgh write about, or an issue in your community that needs attention, or a subject you’d like us to dig into and report on, or any other story idea you might have. You can drop in unannounced but if possible we’d be grateful if you can e-mail us in advance, so we can make sure we’ll have enough time during those 90 minutes to hear everyone’s thoughts.
We’re looking forward to seeing you.
And we want to say a big “thank you” to all the readers who have submitted suggestions for Kidsburgh Kind Kids. If you haven’t already recommended someone, we invite you to tell us about a child who has done an act of kindness that made you smile — whether it was something big, or a small but meaningful gesture. Parents and other caring adults can use this online form to tell us about a child who has made an effort to spread kindness in our community. You’re welcome to nominate kids of any age, up through age 17.
We look forward to writing about as many of these submissions as possible. And to celebrate the good work that our Kidsburgh Kind Kids do, each child who is recognized as a Kidsburgh Kind Kid will receive a #bethekindkid t-shirt donated by our friends at the JAM Clubs.
