You’re invited to the Kidsburgh pitch meeting: Tell us your story idea

Kidsburgh regularly invites folks from local organizations and schools — and our readers, too — to share story ideas that would be valuable to Pittsburgh-area parents and caregivers. We’re always looking for information that can help families, inspire them or teach them something about the good things happening in our region for kids and families.
You’re invited to share story ideas with us on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 pm, on Zoom (register here).
Each participant will have two minutes to pitch their ideas to the Kidsburgh editorial team (Executive Editor Melissa Rayworth, KDKA-TV’s Kristine Sorensen and the Kidsburgh staff, Lyn Krynski and Yu-Ling Cheng).
When suggesting a story at the meeting, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Explain why this would be a good story for families and youth.
- What is the time frame/when is it happening?
- Is there a particularly timely reason to tell people about this now?
- Who might be a good person to interview?
- Will there be video to share, if it’s a TV story?
If you can, please email your info ahead of time to the editorial team. It helps us take notes and prepare questions.
If you have an event (virtual or in-person) to tell us about rather than a story idea, we suggest you also add it to the Kidsburgh calendar here (it’s free and the third most visited page on the website) and send information about the event to kidsburghpgh@gmail.com, rather than attending the pitch event. However, if you’d like to come, we welcome you.
Not able to make it to the Kidsburgh pitch event, but have an idea? No worries! You can always send story ideas to the Kidsburgh team any time throughout the year. Our contact info is:
